It's also common knowledge that several African dog breeds make formidable hunting dogs and are famously devoted to their families. What makes African dogs so unique is worth exploring. First, though, let's take a look at some characteristics shared by African dogs.

The Saluki can grow to be as tall as 28 inches and as heavy as 65 pounds, but is generally much smaller. Their coats can be smooth or somewhat feathered and come in a variety of colors and patterns, including white, fawn, gold, and tan.
